1. Introduction

Codectopus ("we," "our," or "us") provides a platform to analyze GitHub repositories, generate AI-based code reviews, and create documentation.

By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age in your jurisdiction) to use Codectopus. If you are using it on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that company.

3. Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

• You must provide accurate information when registering.

• You may log in using email/password or third-party providers (e.g., GitHub, Google).

4. Repository Access

• When you connect your GitHub account, you grant Codectopus access only to the repositories you select.

• We will never delete, modify, or push changes to your code unless explicitly authorized (e.g., in future paid PR-generation features).

• You can revoke access at any time via GitHub.

5. Use of Service

You agree not to:

• Use Codectopus for unlawful purposes

• Attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or exploit the service

• Upload or connect repositories containing illegal content

• Use the service in violation of export control laws or sanctions

5.1 Fair Use & Rate Limits

• Codectopus is intended for legitimate code analysis and documentation purposes

• We may implement usage limits based on your subscription tier to ensure fair access for all users

• We reserve the right to throttle, limit, or suspend accounts for excessive usage, abuse, or activities that impact service performance

• Bulk processing or reselling of our analysis services requires prior written approval

6. Payment & Subscription Terms

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually based on your selected plan

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing cycle

• You may cancel your subscription at any time via your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period

• We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods. You retain access to paid features until the end of your billing cycle

• Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes, duties, and fees, which you are responsible for paying

• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Failed payments may result in service suspension

7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Codectopus uses AI models to provide code reviews and documentation. These outputs may contain errors and are intended as guidance only. You are responsible for reviewing and validating all results.

8. Third-Party Services

• Codectopus relies on third-party services including GitHub, Google AI, Stripe, Slack, and hosting providers

• We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by third-party outages, API changes, or policy modifications

• By using Codectopus, you agree to comply with the terms of service of GitHub, AI providers, and other integrated services

• Third-party service changes may affect Codectopus functionality without prior notice

9. Privacy & Data

Your use of Codectopus is subject to our Privacy Policy.

Data Retention & Deletion:

• Account termination results in data deletion within 30 days

• Repository content is not permanently stored

• Analysis results are retained until account deletion

10. Intellectual Property

All rights to Codectopus software, branding, and services remain with us. You retain all rights to your repositories and code.

11. Beta & Experimental Features

Codectopus may include beta or experimental features that are provided "as is" without warranty. These features may be changed, discontinued, or removed at any time without notice. Use of experimental features is at your own risk.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Codectopus harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from: (a) your use of the service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of third-party rights, or (d) any content you upload or analyze through the service.

13. Limitation of Liability

Codectopus is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free results. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages resulting from use of the service.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately, and we may delete your account and data as described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Codectopus will be resolved in the courts of Wyoming.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you (e.g., via email or app notification). Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
